FREEDOM BY DESIGN

Fall 2008 - Spring 2009
State College, PA
Freedom by Design is an AIAS community service program, which allows for architecture students to have an impact on the lives of people in their community.  The goal of Freedom By Design is to develop modest design and construction solutions to resolve accessibility issues with people who need it.  Working with the Centre County Office of Aging we were able to locate a client who was no longer able to access their home due to difficulty ascending the stairs to her front door. We worked as a team to design plans, raise funds, and construct a handicap ramp for them.
